In Kerala, there are 12 cases of people infected with the virus and the state has quarantined around 1500 people as a safety measure.
The state government has employed a very strict action plan to minimize the spread of the disease. All travellers arriving at the international / domestic terminals are screened before leaving the airport. The Government has ordered that all schools, colleges and universities as well as theatres and art venues are to be closed until 31st March. All the public functions and religious gatherings have been banned.
Tourism activities in national parks in the state are suspended until further notice. In Kumarakom responsible tourism activities are put on hold as part of a precaution. In Munnar only lock heart Tea factory is closed for visitors but a ban on activities is very much on the cards. In Cochin we are faced with monument and sights closures. Today St Francis church, Santa Cruz Basilica and Synagogue remained closed to visitors and this is likely to continue until 31st March.
