Assam Tea Plantation - Authentic India Tours

The lively city of Dibrugarh offers a unique blend of tourist attractions, from vibrant green tea estates to rich flora and fauna in the surrounding rainforests and wildlife sanctuaries. This major city is located on the south shore of the Brahmaputra River, and a stroll on the recently constructed Dibrugarh River Dyke is a great way to take in the amazing views along the waterway.

Dibrugarh is known as the Tea City of India and is the perfect place to learn about the heritage of this key industry while sipping a refreshing cup of Assam tea and watching a traditional Jhumur tea dance performance.

Tea estates

With its fantastic array of tea estates carpeting the landscape in emerald green, Dibrugarh is the perfect place to learn all about tea. Visit a tea estate to discover the process from start to finish, then sit back and take in the scenery with a delicious cup of freshly brewed aromatic Assam tea.

Shrikshetra Dhaam, the Lord Jagannath Temple

Standing at 85 feet, the Shrikshetra Dhaam, the Lord Jagannath Temple is a popular tourist attraction. This landmark of Dibrugarh is a replica of the Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, and is located near the Mahatma Gandhi Park at Khanikar. The park is also worth a visit, with its beautiful sculptures and central fountain.

Dibrugarh is home to a variety of fauna and flora. Wildlife lovers will enjoy the Jokai Botanical Garden and Germplasm Center, which grows some of the most valuable and endangered flowers of the region. The centre includes an Orchid House, medicinal and aromatic plant plot and a rainforest specimen plot, and offers safaris into the Jokai Reserve Forest to spot its famous migratory birds.

Southeast of Dibrugarh town is Jeypore Rainforest, one of the few wildlife reserves in the world housing seven wildcat species including the clouded leopard, common leopard, golden cat, marbled cat and Royal Bengal tiger.
