Goa beach 1150x550

It may be famous for long sandy beaches and renowned nightlife, but there is so much more to Goa than meets the eye. India’s smallest state also offers unique cuisine along with wondrous waterfalls, lush jungle and spice plantations.

Beach life in Goa

With over 100km of golden coastline with shady coconut palms, Goa’s beaches are picture-postcard perfect. Feel your troubles melt away as you dip in the Arabian Sea, then unwind with a cocktail while the sun is setting.

In the north, you’ll find the British tourist favourite Candolim & Calangute, peaceful Morjim where Olive Ridley sea turtles nest, and busy Baga with its line of beach shacks. In the south, popular Palolem offers an inviting long curve of palm-fringed sand, Cola Beach is private and quiet, and Benaulim & Varca is ideal for watersports and dolphin spotting.

Downtown Goa

If you want to explore a little more, the former Portuguese colony nearby is the perfect place. Wind your way down the cobbled streets of its Old Town, to find secret treasures such as churches, museums and art galleries.

Goa Market Magic

Street markets are great for souvenirs, finding local handcrafts and art, or just a browse. You’ll find weekly markets in several nearby beaches, such as Calangute.
