Port Blair is the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and features as the entry and exit point for most people visiting the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Anyone interested in history should visit the Cellular Jail (known as Kala Pani) which stands as a stark reminder of the Andaman capital’s colonial past and is where many prominent Indian freedom fighters were imprisoned. It now serves as a memorial to Indian independence activists.
Port Blair has many wonderful beaches and coves and is an ideal spot for water sports, diving and sunbathing. Corbyn’s Cove beach is without a doubt, one of the highlights of the city. Alternatively, take a ferry to one of the local islands.
Mount Harriet, the highest point in Port Blair, provides a scenic view of the city and is a popular attraction.
