Sugati Ayurveda & Yoga Retreat

The Sugati Ayurveda and yoga retreat brings together Ayurveda, yoga, natural therapies and a spa to turn the commotions of everyday life into a gentle breeze and the start of a journey towards holistic living. Sugati focuses on helping you to take those first steps to recognise the importance of balance, relaxation and wholeness.

While holistic healing consists of the techniques and procedures of healing like herbal medicines, therapeutic massages, and countless other healing methods that originated in the eastern world, the concept of holistic living goes beyond that. If someone chooses to live holistically, they will continue to live in that state, even after the healing process. It brings harmony to the life of all living beings around you promoting physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

In other words, how we think, react, interact and influence others are all reflections of the life we choose to live.

Key principles of Sugati Ayurveda and Yoga Retreat

  • Recognise and respect the powers of your body through yoga
  • Practice mindfulness. Yoga, along with meditation, is said to provide the result and satisfaction of the complete meal. You don’t want to prepare your meal and not have it. Well, that’s what happens if you don’t meditate after practising yoga
  • Eat clean foods. Everything at Sugati is organic
  • Recycle energy. The concept of Sugati is simple — Recycle, reuse and reforest, which leads to a considerable reduction in the total Carbon Footprint

Each of the spacious rooms is well furnished with plush beds and are a haven to relax in. They all feature modern en-suite bathrooms with bathtubs and benefit from private balconies with picture-perfect views.

Dining at Sugathi Yoga Retreat

The cuisine at Sugathi is based on the wellness and Ayurvedic principles serving beautifully crafted meals with local, seasonal, fresh and organic produce as much as possible from the Sugati plantation. The restaurant features dishes from Indian and Continental cuisines with an emphasis on fresh fruits and veggies, low-fat dairy products, with no added preservatives, colours or flavours.

The restaurant menu is purely based on recipes as per the Ayurvedic principle — which is based on the three body types or doshas — Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

If vata constitutes air and space, pitta is defined by fire and water, and kapha is water and earth. Individuals with vata body types are more inclined to light and dry foods. In order to balance this, it is important to incorporate oily, moist and heavy foods into the diet, along with sweet, sour and salt. In order to dowse the fire, individuals with pitta body type require cool and heavy foods with sweet, bitter and pungent flavours. While the kapha body type can be kept in balance by adding light food with bitter, pungent and astringent flavours. Hence, every dish served at Sugati is in house doctor prescribed to suit individual body types and lifestyle.

Private cooking lessons with the master chefs are available.
