Designed by the French architect Le Corbusier, Chandigarh Capitol Complex is a government compound spread over around 100 acres including buildings, monuments and a lake. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Le Corbusier designed all the buildings, the Palace of Assembly or Legislative Assembly, Secretariat, High Court, Open Hand Monument, Geometric Hill and Tower of Shadows, so that not a single ray of sunshine enters them.
