Discover Goa

Goa is India’s smallest state, yet it boasts over 100 km of coastline. It’s well known for its golden sand beaches fringed with coconut palms, and for its legendary nightlife. But there’s far more to laid back Goa than this.

Formerly a Portuguese colony, Goa is an intriguing melting pot of Indian and European cultural influences, which is reflected in its colonial architecture and unique cuisine. Inland you’ll find lush jungle, spice plantations and waterfalls, making Goa a state where you can get in some beach time along with your culture fix.

Things to do in Goa

  • Enjoy the beach life. Feel your troubles melt away as you dip in the Arabian Sea, then unwind with a cocktail while the sun is setting. In the north, you’ll find the British tourist favourite Candolim & Calangute, peaceful Morjim where Olive Ridley sea turtles nest, and busy Baga with its line of beach shacks. In the south, popular Palolem offers an inviting long curve of palm-fringed sand, Cola Beach is private and quiet, and Benaulim & Varca is ideal for watersports and dolphin spotting
  • Downtown Goa. If you want to explore a little more, the former Portuguese colony nearby is the perfect place. Wind your way down the cobbled streets of its Old Town, to find secret treasures such as churches, museums and art galleries
  • Goa Market Magic. Street markets are great for souvenirs, finding local handcrafts and art, or just a browse. You’ll find weekly markets in several nearby beaches, such as Calangute
