Famous as the place where most Indian coffee is produced, tranquil Kodagu (Coorg) lies burrowed amongst the magnificent peaks of the Western Ghats. This is the ideal spot to rest and catch your breath during your travels – perhaps with a cup of local coffee?
Things to do in Kodagu
- Sensational Plantations. Unwind and relax with a meander through misty forests, green-hued hills and coffee, cardamom, nut and pepper plantations.
- Tibetan Treat. Bylakuppe is the oldest Tibetan settlement in India, where you can visit the ornate Golden Temple, used regularly by monks as a place of worship. The walls are resplendent in vibrant friezes of Tibetan art and colourful prayer flags flutter in the wind.
