North India Wilderness Tour

Upon arrival at Delhi International Airport, you will be welcomed by your Authentic India Tours representatives who will transfer you to your hotel for a 2 night stay.

Today is an opportunity to explore the historical city of Delhi with a full day sightseeing tour. You will begin in the wide avenues of New Delhi and will see the Lutyen’s buildings and the India gate memorial, along with the impressive tomb of Humayan and Qutub Minar. In the afternoon you will experience the bustling and vibrant streets of Old Delhi to see the Jama Masjid and Rajghat as well as the resting place (Samadhi) of Mahatma Gandhi.

Today you leave the bustle of Delhi for the natural landscape of the Ranthambore National Park. You will be taken to the train station around lunchtime to board the train to Sawai Madhopur, where upon arrival you will be met by your driver and transferred to your luxury hotel for a 2 night stay. Over the next 2 days you will be able to experience 3 safaris through the National Park.

If you love nature today is a special treat with 2 safari drives into Ranthambore National Park. Your jeep safari will take you through the rugged terrain which is home to a wild variety of wildlife including the elusive Bengal tiger. Your game drives are early in the morning and then again in early evening when temperatures are at their coolest and the animals are most active.

This morning you have another opportunity to enjoy a safari in the National Park before departing for the 5-6 hour journey to Bharatpur

Don’t forget your camera and binoculars for this morning’s rickshaw ride. You will be taken around Keoladeo National Park, an outstanding bird refuge that is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon you leave Bharatpur to visit the deserted Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri.

After a leisurely breakfast you have the option of another rickshaw ride before the short 1 hour journey to Agra. In the afternoon you will visit 2 UNESCO world heritage sites the Agra Fort followed by the world famous Taj Mahal.

Your driver will transfer you to the railway station this morning for the express train to Jhansi. You will then be met at the Jhansi station and taken by your driver for the 30 minute trip to Orchha which is nestled on the banks of River Betwa. This afternoon your tour includes the chance to explore the fascinating temple town of Orchha.

This morning’s drive to Khajuraho takes 3 – 4 hours. In the afternoon, you can visit the famous western group of temples of Khajuraho and then later there is an optional sound & light show which can be paid for locally.

After breakfast the drive to Bandhavgarh National Park takes about 6 hours. In the afternoon you can explore the park on a jeep safari. Bandhavgarh is home to spotted deers, blackbuck, wild oxen, sloth bear, nilgai, barking deer, leopard and tiger as well as rich and varied birdlife which includes golden orioles, parakeets, hornbills and partridges.

If it’s tigers you’re looking for there is a chance you will see them on one of your two jeep safaris today. Although sightings are not guaranteed, tigers are frequently spotted as Bandhavgarh National Park boasts the highest tiger density of any park in the world.

This morning we take the 6 hour drive to Kanha National Park, another park famous for the Royal Bengal Tigers. Later in the afternoon you can enjoy a jeep safari in the park. The long grasslands provide perfect grazing for the deer and antelopes on which the tiger prey.

You have another opportunity to spot tigers today on one of the two jeep safaris which have been organised. The large grassy areas of the Kanha National Park provides perfect grazing for deers and antelopes, which are prey for the tigers.

A 4 hour drive this morning takes you to Pench National Park, named after the River Pench which flows through the park. In the afternoon you can enjoy a jeep safari through the park and admire its natural beauty just as Rudyard Kipling did when he referenced it in the Jungle Book.

Today, early morning and afternoon jeep safaris have been organised. Pench National Park is home to a wide variety of animals and was established as a tiger reserve in 1992. It is now working under Project Tiger and although the population is stable and daily sightings occur in the large park, they can still be elusive

Reductions are normally available for groups of three or more. Some hotels operate an additional peak pricing rate during busy times which is normally from mid December to mid January.
