Sarchu

Discover Sarchu

Sarchu is an important stopover on the Lah-Manali highway on the border of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. It is a haven for traders, nomadic tribes and adventure seekers. Sarchu is a trekker’s paradise, and between May and September, it is the starting point for treks to Zanskar in Ladakh.

It can be a challenging destination to visit with an elevation of over 14,500 feet, so it is important for travellers to ascend from a lower altitude to acclimatise and prevent altitude sickness.
