Beautiful Bandhavgarh has lots on offer, from safaris at Bandhavgarh National Park to spot tigers, bartering in the market, the impressive Bandhavgarh Fort, and the chance to seek blessings at Jwalamukhi Temple.
The former game preserve of the Maharajas, Bandhavgarh National Park today has one of the highest tiger populations in India, so it is one of the best places to spot a flash of stripy fur. The park also has a large breeding leopard population, around 300 bird species, 80 butterfly species and many reptiles.
Jwalamukhi Temple is a sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Jwalamukhi, the deity of Flaming Mouth. The Temple hosts a fair twice a year during the Navratirs of Chaitra and Aswin, where devotees make offerings whilst circling a sacred fire.
