Sanctuary Lodge, Birethanti, Nepal

Discover the Sanctuary Lodge

The Sanctuary Lodge at 3,600 feet is located on a peninsula overlooking the Modi River just north of the lovely village of Birethanti. It offers half a mile of river frontage, breathtaking views of Machapuchare – the sacred ‘Fishtail’ mountain, and wonderfully planted gardens.

This Kerr & Downey lodge has an uncharacteristically high level of style and luxury and was created by local craftsmen. There is a central lounge/dining space where guests can re-group after a warm shower and enjoy a Nepali tea. The open fire is great to cosy up around to read a book from the library or play cards. Botanical and bird-watching excursions in the neighbouring subtropical forests are highly recommended.
